7 Days of Flexibility Training
Often times when people think about fitness, they think about time spent at the gym, lifting weights, running, cycling, or some other type of strength training. But did you know that flexibility is just as much a part of overall fitness as strong, lean muscles? A truly healthy muscle is both strong AND flexible, maintaining both optimal range of motion balanced with tensile strength.
Ideally, a few minutes of focused stretching should accompany every workout routine and on some days, 30 minutes of focused stretching could actually account for the whole day's workout. The good news is that even spending a few minutes stretching out your body could be enough to leave you feeling refreshed, energized, and help to reduce areas of chronic pain. Other benefits of stretching include:
Greater freedom of movement and improved posture
Increased physical and mental relaxation
Reduced muscle tension and soreness
Reduce the risk of injury
